So this is what happened today.
I had a 200MB data plan for my previous iphone and I had it on my iphone 5 when I upgraded it. Then I decided to return my iphone and got a replacement SIM card that I can use on my other old phone(not a smart phone) for the time being.
Now when I tried to get the iphone 4S, at&t tells me that my account does not have a data plan and that I have to choose between 300MB or 3GB.
Just talked to AT&T over the phone explaining that I just switched the SIM card. I was not told that the plan will be deactivated and that I never agreed to make any changes to the plan while I was in the AT&T store for the new SIM. They have started a case for this issue and told me that they will get back in 10 days, so I am in a long wait I guess.
If you are planning something like this, be aware that the data plan may just disappear...
