Just hoping for all of you out there with subpar service that the millions of dollars spent on Tiger's golf bag logo will go towards getting your service to a satisfactory level.

I don't know what he "earned" by having AT&T's logo on his bag, but it would surely be in the 5-15,000,000 dollar range yearly. It's not a hell of a lot of money for them, but hopefully it WILL help.

tiger is getting his just dessert. I doubt it will help improve att's crap service though

Uh, no. The money that isn't being spent on Tiger Woods will go to somebody else and to marketing budget.

at&t will not use the money for service improvements; they will find another spokesperson. Service improvements are low on AT&T's priority.

That's wrong.

AT&T spends same amount as verizon. Just look at their financial.

ESPN had THE BEST headline for this story too. "Call Dropped: AT&T retracts sponsorship with Woods"

He earned it by being a golf superstar and like any superstart companies were eager to pay him gobs of money to have a logo or have him hawk their products.

Given his personal problems and his inability to win a major, it looks like ATT wants a different direction with their marketing budget. Using the money on service improvements is not how business works. They give the marketing dept a certain amount of money to use, and so they won't use that budget on Woods but some other thing.
