Hi.

I currently have the iPhone $69.99/mo plan with AT&T Wireless. My wife, who is with Sprint now, is considering switching over to AT&T as well, but she does not plan on buying an iPhone. In fact, all she wants is the basic plan (phone calls) + 200 texts (i.e. no data). That being the case, can I switch to their FamilyTalk plan and simply add her as the second line?

I am going to visit an AT&T store tomorrow to ask, but it would be great if someone can give me some heads-up on it.

TIA!

Headed to the AT&T store at Alderwood Mall? ;)

And like Surely said, it can be done.

Yes you can.

I am on a family plan with my wife- I have the iPhone, she does not.

Great! Let me be a little more specific, then. The phone part of my plan is $39.99 for 450 minutes/mo. The cheapest FamilyTalk plan is $59.99 for 550 shared minutes/mo. Do you think we will be able to choose this option? In other words, my plan will change this way:

Current: $39.99 (phone) + $30.00 (data) = $69.99
Future: $59.99 (phone - FamilyTalk) + $30.00 (my data) = $89.99

Thanks again!

LOL! You must live in the Seattle area, too.

Actually, I'm planning to go to the one in downtown Seattle (at 4th and Pike). I work in Belltown. :)

Don't forget her messaging plan which I believe is the "Messaging 200 $5.00 a month" plan plus your messaging plan too.

Yes I am. I just thought you were working up north ;)

Yes, I think that you should be able to do that. You will have to re-up your contract to 2 years though.

I left the text plans out to simplify the situation. Thanks for the reminder, though. :)

Thanks again. That's fine. I just bought a 3GS two weeks ago, which extended my contract to 2 years. :)
