I signed up for AT&T a week ago with an iPhone 3G :)D) and I ported my number over from my Alltel account, and they said that it would automatically cancel my Alltel account, and it did, but I didn't get charged anything! There's not charge on my bill for a cancellation fee or anything! Is that right?

depends how long you've had your alltell account and if you're out of your contract then theres no ETF

For AT&T? The only money I spent the day I signed up was for the iPhone.

Heh... No, for Alltel. :)

Also, if you're looking for the fee on your AT&T bill, you won't find it there. It isn't charged by them; it's charged by Alltel. If you haven't yet received your final bill from them, it will very likely be there.

Well, I received a bill from Alltel a day before I signed up with AT&T, does that mean I will get another Alltel bill next month?

You obviously have never changed networks before, have you? ;)

Whenever you do so, you always receive a final bill. This is the same for home utilities like cable, water, garbage, etc also.

Nope, I haven't. That sucks :( That's gonna cost a ton of money :(

yup usually takes about 30 days for phones. Many companies allow you to switch back without losing your number within 30 days.

Only 200. Its worth it. Alltel has great service but have always been behind on phones for some reason. I know this sounds crazy but I am willing to sacrifice service quality for a phone that does what I want. Alltel has the best service by far in my area and will be even better when the Verizon merger goes through but they both have gay phones. And by gay I mean they dont have the iphone and every other phone in the whole world is gay compared to the iphone. :D:apple::D:apple::D:apple::D:apple:

No, it will be $400 for me :( I had a family plan with a 9.99 second line :(

That is going to end up being a very expensive 3G.

You will have a HUGE final bill from Alltell, and a nice big one from AT&T with all the service charges with starting a new account, activation, etc...
