Yeap. Just make sure they set it up for a dumb phone so that they don't add a data plan to it. Just evaluate your options. $10 a month for 24 months is close to $250. But it does stagger available upgrades. Have a buddy that did this and can upgrade about every year with one line or the other.
How would you add this to your account though? What I was planning to do was set up a family plan, but I would be paying more every month with not a substantial increase to minutes. Is the ghost line on an individual plan, or a family plan?
True, you would have to switch to a family plan if you don't already have one. So it's just a matter of weighing your options on what you are willing to pay for.
Did this to get my 4S. Not only do you get this phone subsidized, but it guarantees you an available upgrade every year.
How do you get them to add the line without adding a data plan? I was under the impression that iPhones always had to have data plans attached to them.
I was told that you go to the at&t store and they add a line to give you the $200 price and then just put the iPhone on your real number so there is never any phone attached to the ghost line.
Get a standard sim for the new line and use it in a dumb phone. I have a $20 To-Go phone that I plan on using. I say to get a phone bc sometimes they will ask for an IMEI like AT&T did to me last week. Otherwise, the sim could just sit on your desk or something.
So do i have to explain to Best Buy what i want to do or will they understand that i just want to upgrade my iphone 4
