Hey everyone! I’m thinking about dropping our grandfathered UDP from AT&T in favor of one of the new “unlimited” data plans.

I can’t seem to get a straight answer from anyone at AT&T, so seeking help here. Does data POSSIBLY slow per line on the grandfathered plan if a.) you go over 22 GB per that line and b.) you are on a busy tower WITH the potential of speeding back up once you are no longer connected to a congested tower?

They have been offering the “Unlimited Plus” plan that does get throttled after 22 GB, though it is less expensive and includes tethering.

Thanks!

I’m on that unlimited 22gb plan. I’ve gone over the 22gb 2 or 3 times (I have 4 kids on the plan) and can’t say that I’ve ever seen a slow down in my speeds. Although, when I go over it is by about 1-5 GBs.

I am pretty sure that AT&T deprioritizes data on ALL unlimited plans after 22GB. And that's only if the tower you're on at that moment is having capacity issues.

I’m on the unlimited plus...or whatever the top unlimited plan is currently. Most I’ve used is 26gb and my speeds remained normal.
