Today I used the AT&T myWireless app to change my data plan from the $25 DataPro Plan to the $45 DataPro with Tethering Plan.
It was incredibly easy to do, with just a click on the option for the new data plan. And the wireless hotspot was instantly activated. I assume I'll be billed a prorated portion of the month at the new rate.
This got me thinking....what will happen if I downgrade again in a couple of days? Will I just pay the higher rate for the days I'm active? If I was just going to be an occasional low frequency iPad tetherer, could I just turn on the higher plans for the few days I'd be using them? Or does a downgrade not become effective until the next billing period?
Still this seems like a great way to get iPad data occasionally.
