AT&T iPad 2 still work with iphone sim?

can anyone confirm that the ipad 2 still can get data from the iPhone 4 sim? I know on the orig iPads all you had to do was switch a setting over to phone

I have read that it still works, but that AT&T will contact you and ask you to buy a data plan or something of that nature.
