AT&T iPad Recurring Data?

I was going to activate my AT&T 3rd Gen iPad and it said my credit card will be billed every 30 days...is this something new? This is my first AT&T iPad, so I wasn't sure, but I thought the data plan would just end at the end of the month.

You have to cancel if you don't want to auto-renew. You will still have data for that month even after you cancel. In other words, sign up and then cancel 5 minutes later. You will still get the X amount of data you paid for or 30 days of data, whichever comes first, and it won't auto-renew.
