So my brother and sister-in-law purchased a new iPad and an iPad 2 the same day the new one was released. They both decided to get the 250MB plan for $15/mo. I told them to start with 3GB and see how much they use so they can adjust accordingly. Anyway, couple days later of course the new iPad was at 65% of the data allotment and my sister-in-law asked me to what to do. In the mean time, she's been watching what she's been doing and using the hotspot off her iPhone 4.

At first, I told them to add the two iPads to their AT&T accounts so they can get the FAN discounts if they move to the higher plan. But, I/they didn't want them to be stuck in a potential contract. I had already exchanged my AT&T for a Verizon so I offered that as an option to them. They had until the end of the month to do an exchange, according to the Apple receipt. I told them about the data plans and hotspot. Now, they are thinking of putting the new iPad of the 5GB plan and just keeping the iPad 2 as a WiFi only, since it will be connected to the new iPad. Seems complicated but, their choice. I haven't really explained to them. They aren't really that knowledageable, they didn't even know that it required a hardware exchange.

So, to make it short, what would be the best way to get data plans for the 2 iPads for a rather cheap price. I'm unaware of the addition to the AT&T, but it may be a good idea since VZW isn't really their choice.

Thanks
