Is there an advantage in getting the iPhone 15 from AT&T directly vs. Apple? I can get the hardware faster by buying through Apple but I'm not sure if AT&T has a better trade-in deal which would make waiting the extra few days beneficial. Anyone know?

You can get the AT&T trade in deal directly through Apple. I did so for the 13 Pro. No reason to order through AT&T.

As far as I am aware. Just select financing on the order page, you can preview right now even though the pre orders aren't yet up.

Apple will only give me $250 for an iPhone 12 128gb. I don't see any offers on the AT&T site but it's got to be better than that, no?

It will likely be $700 in monthly credits for your 12, so yes better, but also will take 36 months to receive all the credits.

I'm good with the credits as I'm never leaving AT&T. So then the answer is to order through ATT because it's $700 vs. $250, yes?

And if that's the case, do you know when ordering opens up so I can be the first to preorder?

The deal with AT&T is kind of a devil's bargain, as it becomes a huge pain in the ass to upgrade or trade up, etc. 36 months, you get back credits every month ... but the phone is completely locked to AT&T and your account, so you can't use the phone on an international trip, you can't even give the phone to a relative or friend that isn't on your actual account. If you want to upgrade before 36 months, you will lose any remaining credits due to you.

You can get the same AT&T offer directly from Apple. It really doesn’t matter who you order from. Last time I ordered a few hours after preorders opened via AT&T and I received it on launch day as expected.

This will be my first time doing a trade in with AT&T… is there anything different I need to do if my account is a FirstNet (subscriber paid) account? Or just go about it on the Apple website as if everything is just AT&T? Thanks

Why can’t you use an ATTlocked phone internationally?? We used a 13 plus purchased thru ATT trade in in Mexico. It still has a year left of credits.

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max with a cracked back... I'd love to know if it still qualifies for the full $1000 trade-in. It's right at the cutoff (regular iPhone Pro 12 only gets $800 trade-in), so I expect it might not....
No way of seeing what different conditions do, like on the AT&T site under the current offer (which is for the iPhone 14 Pro Max). The current deal ends 9/14 so I'm guessing we'll find out which model/conditions qualify, but does anyone else see this info anywhere else?

edit to add: my cracked iPhone 12 Pro Max appears to qualify for the full $1000 credit under the current trade-in deal for the iPhone 14 Pro Max... hope it still qualifies under new deal for 15 pro max.

I was setting up pre-order preparation on the Apple site and selected AT&T plan as my choice. It said I should wait for an email when AT&T installment plans are available. Did anyone else try this? I've been with AT&T forever so I doubt it's a credit approval issue.

The 12 Pro Max will probably fall off of the $1000 credit device list and move to $700 credit for the 15 Pro Max.

Edit: also, even though you answered the 4 questions with your back glass being cracked in mind, I’m pretty sure once evaluated your phone will not qualify for the max credits as an undamaged phone would. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I’m confused. In order to qualify for the $1000 in trade in credit. Do I need to order from Apple or AT&T? I see via Apple.com they are offering me $360 trade in value for a iPhone 12 Pro as well as $800 credit from AT&T… Do I trade the phone to Apple or AT&T?

The 12 Pro Max will probably fall off of the $1000 credit device list and move to $700 credit for the 15 Pro Max.

according to the AT&T trade-in thing they have on Apple's iPhone 15 Pro page, the 12 Pro Max qualifies for the full $1000. I'm just afraid it will drop down to $800 tier b/c of cracked back.

when you answer the 4 questions on AT&T's site, it drops the value of your phone if you answer "no" to "is it in good condition" (because of the cracked back, which is one of the bullet points). It just doesn't drop it enough to make it fall out of the $1000 tier.

You can order on Apple, and trade the phone in with AT&T presumably. I've always just done it direct through AT&T.
