At&t Iphone 6 Plus Unlock

So I have a question about unlocking iPhone. Will it be unlock from at&t if i pay it in full? I'm on tmobile. If it's possible, then how do I do it? Do I need to restore the device first?

AT&T phones are supposed to be unlocked when paid in full. As far as I'm aware, all you'd have to do is try to activate a non-AT&T sim

If you pay FULL price it should be unlocked. Last year got a 5S full price and it was working on T-Mobile as well.

If you want an unlocked one, buy it full price "device only" as they call it, from Apple.

I'm not sure if AT&T unlocks if if you pay up front, I know that if you purchase from T-Mobile, even if buying full price, they won't unlock it until after 45 days.

Could be the same with AT&T, or different, recommend getting from Apple or asking AT&T their policy for buying unsubsidized phones.
