(Changed policy as of monday 30th april)

( or any suggestions..?)

I would REALLY appreciate it !!!!

Non customers will not be unlocked

This is what the non customers like myself are getting

Thank you for contacting AT&T Customer Care about unlocking your iPhone.

We are unable to complete your request at this time due to the following reason:
- No valid current or former mobile/account number associated with request.

Please click the following link for AT&T's General Eligibility Requirements for Unlocking iPhone.

Thank you for your inquiry.
Sincerely,
The AT&T Customer Care Team

Policy Changed ....lol Just goes to show how much they really Suck and why people are gonna have issues with iPhone and AT&T

I'm confused...you're not an AT&T customer yet you want them to unlock a device for you? Why would they do that? I'm pretty sure unlocking is only for active AT&T customers who have completed a contract

No I'm not a customer
I bought a device locked to AT&T All I want to do is to unlock it and they do not want to do this for me
the device has never been under contract!

Exactly.
You bought a device that you knew was locked to AT&T and knew that AT&T was not unlocking any iphones.
Now they do but they have their own rules to who they unlock them for and that's paying customers.
Sucks but maybe next time get an unlocked iphone.
Either way the iphone 2G is easy as cake to unlock. Why dont you try that instead of fighting with AT&T?

Yeah the sad thing is lets say I wanted an unlocked iPhone 3G in 2008 if you were in the states it was LOCKED whether you paid commitment or no commitment pricing.Thankfully my old 3G is unlocked
