AT&T June 29th release?

I didn't bother going to an Apple store today. It's too far away and is the only one in my county (I could imagine the lines). We have a bunch of AT&T stores though and want to try my luck at getting an iPhone there. I don't know if I should still plan on an early arrival there since it will have been a few days after the phones release. Should I arrive just as it opens or still get there early? Thanks.

I'm going to my AT&T store around midnight most likely. Might leave and come back every 1.5 hours or something if no one else is showing up.

I'm in the same boat as you though. I live in a decently sized city (metro area well over 200,000 people. in virginia cities are completely independent from counties) but we only have one AT&T store and the closest Apple store is 2 hours away in Richmond.
