AT&T kicks you off of LTE after tethering Macbook for >10 minutes?

Sorry if this is mentioned a lot, but I usually don't tether my Macbook.

I just found out that after tethering my Macbook to my iPhone 6+ for 10 minutes, I always get kicked off of LTE and reconnects as 4G. I have full bars. This has happened in 4 different locations in southern California. I'm on the Mobile Share plan with 25GB/month which I rarely use.

Is this normal for the iPhone 6+ to go back to 4G after 10 minutes of tethering?

No, it should not do that. You should be given LTE service for the full amount of your plan and beyond. The only time something like this might happen is if you had an unlimited plan and you were jail broken and turning on data. In your case, with a valid data plan, you should be able to maintain LTE service.

I would call AT&T and ask to speak with their tech support. They should be able to trouble shoot this for you.

I get kicked off lte all the time with no tethering. It's more finicky about signal quality than hspa
