AT&T NEXT Apple Store Pre-Order loophole?

Alright I'm just guessing here:

So the people in NY (like me) who have AT&T NEXT, what if I were to preorder the 6+ through Apple, choose the option "2-year contract", go in store to pick it up next week, and just tell them I have the NEXT phone plan? Would that even work?

Nah. You still have to pay to pick up in store.

Will they charge your card instantly? Or once you pick it up?

If you order online, you pay online before you submit your order, ... even if you chose to pick it up in store.

But in store, you can have them cancel the online pickup and then pay for it in-store.
