AT&T Next - Can I exchange Phone for different color?

I always hated "that guy" that swaps out new phones on a whim, but...

I picked up the new iPhone 6S Plus this weekend at Best Buy, and gave my wife my SG iPhone 6.

I would have preferred a 128GB Silver to differentiate from the two phones but they only had a 64GB SG to sell me.

If they eventually get more stock in before my return period ends, can I swap if I used AT&T Next to purchase?

I don't think they really have a choice. Last year Best Buy tried to tell me I couldn't trade from a 6+ (too big after I got my hands on it a few days) to a 6 because they didn't allow trad-in's on color or size. I told them "okay then I'd like to return this phone because I'm in my mandatory by law two week return period". They let me trade it then but if they hadn't I would have returned it and went across town and bought the other phone at another location.

If they have the color you want in stock they'll swap it out without a problem. When I was in the store over the weekend looking at the Space Gray 6S Plus, there was another customer there in front of me exchanging his 6S for a different color.

What if you're switching size, therefore not doing an evenly priced exchange and on NEXT? I purchased mine at Apple and would like to go down to the 6s :/
