Good morning! I asked AT&T over Chat a question about pre-ordering the Xs Max, but they didn’t fully answer my question, so I figured I would ask here for clarity and assurance.

My mother is the account holder of our AT&T wireless plan. I am an authorized user. If I pre-order the Xs Max for pickup in an Apple Store next Friday, am I authorized to receive the new phone and sign the paperwork to finance through AT&T Next on my existing line without the presence of the account holder? My upgrade eligibility is to trade in my current iPhone X within 14 days of receiving my new device. Just want to ensure the upgrade process is smooth. Correct, as long as you are an authorized user, you can go and pick up and upgrade without the presence of the account holder. Now if you had to create a new line then you will need the presence of the account holder.

yes. In the checkout screen today it says the account holder name for pickup but has an asterisk below stating "authorized user can also pick up"

I have done NEXT for probably the last 8-9 years and I'm not the primary account holder and have picked up each time without an issue.

this is an apple upgrade program for pickup at apple store, never done it this way. always usually do a UPS hold and go grab it but need to be at work early Friday so I got the 8am slot. praying for no issues.
