Carrier AT&T Next with Apple

Is there a way to order a phone from Apple's site without a 2-year contract or buying T-Mobile/Sim-Free? In other words, can I upgrade via AT&T (or other 1yr plans) for $0 down excluding taxes through Apple's site? Or even in person at the store.

Wondering in case I don't buy at retail price.

Not at this time but things might still change near the time the next iPhone is announced/launched.

Good to know they already have an expected time frame. Given AT&T has mentioned 60% of their customers are already off contract, it stood to reason Apple's not gonna wanna lose those retail sales.
