Why would one choose to order from AT&T Premier rather than through Apple?

I have a FAN discount, but I ordered from Apple, and got it at $199/$299.

So yeah, do you get a discount from AT&T Premier site?
 
Some are able to get the activation/upgrade fee waved through their employers premiere agreement (not the case with government employees though).
 
I have a Premier account and had lots of trouble ordering a 3Gs. Through Apple online it said there was an issue getting authorized by AT&T, so I had to order from AT&T. I talked with about 8 different reps before getting my phone ordered. The only way I got it actually ordered was through the Premier store. Frustrating, but at least I'm getting one!

Don't really remember what it stands for, but it's for people that work for companies, go to schools, etc. that have discounts through AT&T. Usually around 15% off but can be more or less depending on the organization.
