AT&T question: contract date different from upgrade date?

Just checked my eligibility upgrade date and its 5/19/13, but my contract ends on 10/19...so in theory shouldnt i be able to upgrade to iphone5 on 10/19?

anyone have this problem and know the correct answer?

Yea but look again since that should be 10/19/2013 for contract end. Yes your upgrade can be before your contract end date but again double check your dates!

It looks like you got an iPhone 4S last October which might make you upgrade eligible on 5/19/13 ( Next May ) with a contract end date of 10/19/2013 ( 1 year from next month )!!

Yes, those are 2 different things like dave said.
They dont make you wait till the last day your contract is up to upgrade or leave them if you choose.
They allow you to renew your contract earlier so the upgrade date is always before the actual contract ends.

They allow you to upgrade at 20 months even though the contract is 24 months.
