AT&T Specialist at Apple Stores Launch Day?

I am planning on getting an iPhone 5 on the first day. However, my contract is not up for upgrade, so AT&T told me that I should add a line for $10 a month to the family plan and sign a new contract on that new line so I can get the phone for $200. Then I can switch the iPhone to my current line and not use the added line. All in all, it works.

However, is the Apple store able to add lines and switch phones to different numbers? I don't wanna wait in line early morning to find out that the Apple can't do that. I'd just go to AT&T if they can't.

AT&T actually suggested you do that? That's insane if they did. I know people thought that was a clever idea but AT&T must *really* be loving all these people adding extra lines...

I don't think you can add a line from the Apple store, you're probably better off doing it all at an AT&T store.

You can just take out a new line at the apple store and then add it to your family plan by calling at&T. This is what I had to do lat year..

I don't think you can add a line from the Apple store, you're probably better off doing it all at an AT&T store.

You can definitely add a new line at the apple store.... how do you think people with new lines buy them there?

they will have att representatives at apple stores.

Not sure about apple calling and switching for you. But I believe they can. will take a while since the calking centers will be bombarded
