Was doing random speed tests around my area of Portland OR and found that 4G is actually faster than LTE in almost every place :( and even than it is only about 10MB which is plenty but I still see some people on these forums pulling 65MB/100MB a second download over LTE I get barely 7mb.. The only time I ever got close was when LTE was first deployed and almost no one had LTE in the area but iPhone 5 users.

Grab the speedtest.net app, test your LTE speeds, than turn off and test your 4G speeds.. is this common for AT&T subscribers? I live in the suburbs, I figured it wouldn't be this congested.

I haven't been impressed with AT&T's LTE speeds, but I just did a test and got 31mb download and 6mb upload. This is the fastest download that I've had indoors. I'm sure that it's faster outdoors. Last time I checked I was getting around 12mb download so it's heading in the right direction. I'm located in New York by the way.

I have an AT&T iPad and 4G speeds are faster than LTE in my city. Quite often the 4G speeds ate 10 to 12 Mbs, while LTE barely hits 5 Mbs for download speeds.

Evansville, IN, 4G blows LTE out of the water. Most of the time, i'm lucky to even get a data connection on LTE. When I can find a Band 4 tower, and get good signal, speeds are usually 20+. Most of the city is 5mhz band 17, and I can't break 1meg.

I've attached screen shots of 2 speed tests. Same location, signal strength within 3db in Field Test, same speed test server. Sprint blows AT&T out of the water in this market!

Results of my Speedtest (Memphis, TN):

4G: 885 KBps Down, 142 KBps Up (5 bars)
LTE: 1489 KBps Down, 902 KBps Up (4 bars)

My girlfriend lives in saint George, Utah, and her 4G speeds are consistently higher than her LTE speeds. She's not a happy camper.

I live about 20 miles south of Portland, and my LTE speeds are only SLIGHTLY better than 4G. LTE seems to be generally more reliable though.

"4G" is faster than LTE in some locations near UCF. I need to turn of LTE to stream music in my gym sometimes.....
