AT&T subsidy reset date for $399 and $499

Ok, my subsidy dates states that I'm eligible for an upgrade on Dec 11, 2009. If I pay the $399 or $499 for an early upgrade, will my new subsidy date reset (18 months/2 years) from June 19th OR will it still be the same Dec 11, 2009?

I understand and am not complaining about having to pay extra, since that's their rules. However, if every year I upgrade to a new phone and never get the subsidized price, then that's not going to be fun!

Correct, you will be starting a new contract with a new phone subsidy so your "handset" upgrade date will be reset and be based on your new contract date. Your new "Upgrade Eligible" date will be at least 12 months from your purchased and may be 16-21 months based on your Monthly Recurring Cost (MRC) and other factors.

dave006 - thanks for the reply. That's what I thought and that's how it goes I guess. For a person like myself, I may never get a fully subsidized phone. grrr...
