So I called AT&T to ask them to switch from MMS being sent to me as links to the regular method. And, their response was that they don't even know if they'll support MMS on the iPhone, which of course we know isn't true.

they announce that itll be free like they are doing us a favor. Every other text plan costs the same and has MMS inclucded, but since the iphone is a shiny expensive gadget they assume all owners are rich and can cover extra charges.

Well they are, and if they thought all iPhone owners were rich. They'd create a new MMS plan. But like all carriers they're simply saying it goes in hand with your regular messaging charges.

I think the main issue here is that Apple and AT&T aren't getting along so well. However, I think this is mostly AT&T's fault, since they should know that Apple is always going to bring out something new at the WWDC.
