Okay I have installed a lot of different ipcc's on my iPhone and not one of them is configured in a way that MMS, VVM, and tethering will co-exist in harmony. The carrier data for VVM is always "wap.cingular" when it needs to be "acds.voicemail". Then the MMS settings are always blank aside from the lone "wap@cingular". Then when you go to fill everything out, the tethering option disappears completely and the only way to get it back is to reset the carrier settings and then you're back at square one.

I have seen it all at this point. There's one in particular that actually removes your VVM from your carrier data and leaves you with just data and MMS options. Then of course there's some that will remove MMS or tethering...

What I'm asking is, is there an ipcc out there that has the whole package and is done correctly (everything filled out by default)? It is but just a minor annoyance but I just want everything to be seamless and work the way it's supposed to.

Any help?

The file doesn't exist because only iPhone has VVM and the carrier file is from a phone that does not. It's a sacrifice you make.

I installed a 5.0 carrier file that did not disable my VVM. That's on both my 3G and my 3G S. *shrug* I may have been lucky, but I can upload it if someone wants to try it.

Just a side note: I get all the MMS options, but I still can't successfully send or receive them. Something on AT&T's side is still in effect, no matter their efforts. :(

Edit: I downloaded the tethering profile from that website that I can't remember now, and it also didn't disable anything else.

I will send money to the person who makes the ipcc file that makes everything work, including voicemail. tethering, i don't care about, but if someone makes the file so MMS and VVM work, I will paypal money over to them

seriously.

is their anyway to FIX visual voicemail.. i tried searching but couldnt find anything..

or can i downgrade carrier update??

Mms and vvmail working

I have had mms workin for about two weeks and vvmail is fine as well. I think it might depend on your texting plan to get mms working.

MMS works on my end too. But when I enter the settings for it, it takes away my internet tethering. So at the moment I can either have MMS and VVM and no tethering, or have tethering but no VVM/MMS.

Both are working on mine you should try installing the mobile config file in from the web in addition to the ipcc to get both working at the same time

I have the 4.0 with tethering and voicemail (but no mms). Anyone wanna clarify exactly what you guys are talking about? I am a bit confused.

of course there is one. the one from an iPhone that has both tethering and VVM on.

like mine.

I've given up on getting mms working for now.

I do have tethering working and vvm with the wap.cingular setting.

I talked with an ATT tech for a little while today and he said the problem is that they need to get it worked out where their system can tell the difference between 3.0 phones and those w/o. 1st gen phones as well as phones w/o 3.0 still need to have the opt out, while the others don't. Also, he claimed that Apple originally told them they had until Q3 but then at the last minute told them they were going to release in Q2.

The best I've been able to do is swap sims, make a couple calls, put the sim back in the iphone and I can send mms for several minutes. Then, it goes back to the red !. Feh!!!

I also followed the instructions on krillr. In his blog it says to skip step 7-11 since I have a family message plan. Also, instead of calling ATT, I just made sure I could send mms between the substituted phone (a v3 razr) and another line on the family plan. When I put the sim back in the iphone, mms would work for several minutes (both send and receive) but then was disabled again.

Also, I know that the mms opt out is removed from my account because I don't receive the 'viewmymessage' text like I used to. When you send me an mms now, it just gets lost somewhere.

in order to get all 3 up and running concurrently, i think that the type-mask field needs to be set in each of the apns in the ipcc, which i haven't seen in any of the att ipccs. however, what value to set that type-mask to is uncertain as i don't think the scheme has been cracked yet.

besides that, even though i can get mms working by going into OLAM and telling it i have a different phone, once i make a phone call, i lose mms again, so it seems like a futile attempt.

I used the instructions from this website and the ipcc in the link
http://soulified.com/iphone/

I had also previously installed the mobile configuration file from
http://www.benm.at/

And i have both mms and tethering working! I also installed my iphone sim card in an old razr and went to my media net and put in my phone number. I am on the family unlimited texting plan and my mms has been working for about two weeks. 2 other friends have got mms and tethering working in the same way and it kept working. Hope this helps if you have questions pm me.

I tried his ipcc and it deleted my visual voicemail altogether.

And yes I believe there is a file out there somewhere that has all the masks set correctly, it just hasn't been found and made readily available yet. That's what I think and even if noone has made an all-in-one ipcc yet, I'm sure they're working on it so I hope to see a thread here on it soon enough.

Or AT&T can get off their lazy bums and just get it over with already like I dunno....Every other iPhone carrier in the world has?
