So I preorder the iPhone 6 and want to unlock my 5 since it's now off contract. I fill out their online form and it comes back rejected because I "exceeded the maximum number of unlock requests". What?
So I do an online chat with a rep and she files a case, and she initially says I'm not off contract until 2018. What? I told her the contract was from 2012-2014. She reviews it and says I'm correct, so goes ahead filing the case.
Then she asks me if I want to pay the $63 now. What? She says there's unpaid bills and I said I am on auto pay. She reviews and says I am again correct.
So now I get an email with instructions for the unlock. Man, AT&T.
So if you have trouble with an unlock, you have to pester AT&T. I think these little "mistakes" are done on purpose to discourage you from doing the unlock, which they hate.
