AT&T upgrade question

I tried AT&T live chat with little luck, but I knew someone on here could help... When you use a subsidized upgrade with AT&T does that extend your plan 2 years from that upgrade date or add 2 years to the current contract? My contract is up in January 2013 currently. So will upgrading make my new contract due in Sep 2014 or Jan 2015?

New two year service commitment based on the new activation date so in your example your new contract end date would be Sept 2014 if you activated this month.
