Is anyone changing carriers? If so who's going where and why?

I've been with AT&T since before the original iPhone and since. So I have the grandfathered unlimited plan. But it doesn't mean much since they throttle it after 5GB. So I want to jump to a mobile share plan.

I called Verizon about VoLTE because voice and data are important to me and while they've said they will support it, they aren't saying when. Shared plans also offer included tethering, and texting overseas. I want to go to Verizon because the phones are unlocked. And AT&T coverage in my area (L.A.) is not so good these days.

I don't know how Verizon and T-Mobile are here. There's a chance I'd be moving to NY or SF in the short term so those markets would be important to me.

T-Mobile has the best deal but I'm not sure about the service.

Verizon has the best and most consistent coverage at my school...by far(even though AT&T just put LTE here in January)

That and the single line plan on contract helps out a ton. No need for edge :)

Staying on my mom's plan and switch back to a 2 year plan off of Edge.

For my area and given my yearly business travel, T-Mobile offers by far the most compelling value.

After 3+ years I'm making the jump from verizon to T-Mobile. I'm tired of having to pay full price to keep unlimited data so I will port my number over and enroll in Jump. Save me $30 per month and have unlimited voice calls as opposed to 450min/ unlimited data text and hotspot.

Really? I thought AT&T was pretty good in Raleigh

It's great in the actual city and surrounding areas, but I'm at the Air Force base in Goldsboro. And even here it's okay too, but at work and in my dorm etc I can't make phone calls; forced to use FaceTime audio(which is awesome) and Facebook calling when indoors.

Sprint coverage sucks, but the iPhone 6 supports triband now so at least it will get some LTE speeds now with Spark.

I changed carriers once because of a phone exclusive. Get this - I went to Sprint to get the Palm Pre! Rookie mistake, changing carriers (from AT&T) just for a phone, but I did it. What a mistake! But hey, lesson learned.

Pretty much a free agent now. I'm currently on T-Mobile, but on a pay as you go plan (not an iPhone), so can switch plans at will. I live in the Phoenix area and most sites say that Verizon has the best LTE coverage here, so I'm probably going to switch to them.
