The threads about the iPhone 4 antenna problems made me check for the same issue on a 3GS. If I'm in a location where I have only 2 bars, pick the 3GS up to answer a call, grip it around the bottom where the antenna is located, it drops to 1 or 0 bars and the call sometimes fails. Hold it loosely by the top and no such problem. So all this time I was blaming AT&T for the call drop, when it was partially due to my hand position when picking up the phone.
So this is Steve's method to train users that a dropped call is partially their fault when using cell phones without an external antenna or antenna bulge. Did AT&T pay him for this mind trick?
