I think AT&T has the worst website and app of any decent-sized company.

I use them for paying my monthly bill.

Their app was so horrible with hanging and crashing that I just uninstalled it to save myself anguish.

The website flashes literally a dozen times when I login and when I try to authorize payment.

Does anyone else experience this?

To top it all, even though I have signed up for notification by text and email when the bill is ready, I never get any notifications. One month I forgot to pay and got dinged with a late fee. I called them and they reversed it. But I'm still not being notified and I'm concerned about slipping yet again.

I find it so frustrating that I'm considering a switch.

I would have given T-Mobile a try, but from what I understand, coverage isn't as good as AT&T.

So, for those who have Verizon, how is the performance of their website and/or app for paying your monthly bills?

Depends on where you live. Here in the DFW area of Texas which is a large metro area, coverage is great. Besides that, T-Mobile has some of the best plans and prices when compared to Verizon or AT&T. And yes, I was once a subscriber to Verizon and AT&T. Also Sprint before they merged with T-Mobile.

It seems that's a terrible reason to switch carriers. If you're having that much trouble navigating the website and the app isn't working properly why not set up auto pay? Then you'll never have to go on the app or website again.

I haven't used AT&T so I can't compare the apps but I have used Verizon and T-mobile. I have friends who have AT&T and haven't heard them complain about issues with the website or app but I've never asked or felt the need to ask. I've never had any problems with either Verizon or T-mobile from the website or apps but that doesn't mean you won't. A word of caution Verizon is similar to AT&T for network coverage but T-mobile is a step down. This of course is outside of large cities. If you stay and work in a big city then you shouldn't have issues. It's also cheaper so if perfect coverage isn't important to you it might be a consideration.

for all my bills, no exception, i use my bank's on line bill pay. Keeping it all in one spot i can do searches and reports come tax time. I setup all my vendors to email invoices. I receive an email and a few days later I setup the bill pay to pay out the exact day the invoice is due and delete the initial email.

we use Verizon in an urban area
in the past Verizon had really bad 4G reception. They started to activate 5G towers and their standard 4G service has greatly improved

Yes, their website and app are repulsive. I’ve been using auto-pay for years just so I avoid logging in and dealing with their craptastic site/app.

I can’t, for the life of me, understand how a massive corporation like AT&T, can’t implement a smooth website or app.

The website has improved a bit over time, but I still find it difficult to find what I need without going from page to page. It's also slower than it ought to be.

Fortunately, I don't use the AT&T app at all and don't have to visit their website often. I use autopay for my AT&T bills, in addition to all my other utilities, mortgage, credit cards, and pretty much any account that offers it. That way I never worry about missing a payment. I haven't had any problems, but I keep close tabs on everything by downloading transactions to Quicken every couple of days.

I pay my bill using the XpressPay number. When I was using notifications, I was using Chronicle, but Reminders is fine.

Don't hear people complaining about their website either, nor have I had any real issues with it myself. But then a lot of services have very terrible customer portals to begin with, so it's just something some are used to.

The actual service matters more. And yeah, AT&T is very, very, very good on doing away with late fees and payment arrangements.

I have not really found any major carrier's website to be great. It's like they contract it out to the lowest bidder or something ...
I almost feel like they want the site/app to be complex and convoluted. It’s bordering on the experience of trying to decipher an EOB from your health insurance company.

I suggest you set up autopay. I use Verizon and am not a fan of the website or the app. I wouldn’t even bother with the app but for the data widget requires the app to be installed. I know, I’m probably one of the last ones not on an “unlimited” plan but I have my reasons. Anyway, check out autopay, you might get a monthly discount. I think I save $5/month with autopay.

As far as why are the websites/apps so bad? I suspect it’s because their primary function isn’t to help us but to scrape data. Cynical, I know, but we’ll see when Verizon updates the app again.
