Hi,

I'm about to buy an 4870 for my 2006 Macpro. I like to keep my x1900 as well so I can use 3 monitors. However, is there enough power connectors to do this? As far as I know the 4870 would use 2 and the 1900 would use 1. If there is not enough, is there any other way to do this? Can I take power from the second drive bay for example?

yes, yes you can.

i would say:

4870 in slot 1
x1900 in slot 2

x1900 will only have 8x slot speed, not sure how it affects the x1900 but some performance will be lost. if only running those displays for non-gpu-heavy tasks then no problem...

and use motherboard to power the 4870 and x1900 can use dvd power
