ATI 5770 in early 2008 macpro problem

I just installed an ATI 5770 in my early 2008 MacPro. I have two NEC 23" monitors that have DVI-D connectors. The monitor connected via the DVI-D connector is working fine. The other monitor is connected via one of the Mini Display ports via a KANEX Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter and is not working.

Any ideas? Do I have to download a driver? I really appreciate some ideas.

FYI:

I just installed the recent graphics update from Apple via software update and it's now working. Seems to be fine.
