As everyone said... it will..
But.. don't do it.. Get a used 9600XT or a X800XT (if you can afford it).
The 9600XT is faster.. BUT if you have the Apple 30 inch, then you have no choice.. The only low end card to run it is the Radeon 9650.

I will probably go with the 9800XT unless I can find a X800 for under $300. Although I heard that there would be new cards coming out for the G5 soon. Am I right?

You might as well wait until WWDC on June 6 to see if anything is announced. but if I were you I would aim for a used 9800XT. I have seen them go for about $175 here and about $200 on ebay. There is very little to no chance of finding an X800 for under $300 as they are $450 - $500 new and are backordered at that price, and who sells a kick ass card like an X800 used anyway!?!
