ATI drivers driving me insane

I'm trying to update my drivers from the current catalyst 11.9 I have, but when I go to the ATI site and download from there I get an error message telling me I can't download 11.12 b/c the graphics adapter isn't recognized or something...

so where do i get drivers from? pretty lost at the moment, any help is appreciated
