ATI FirePro 4900 in Mac Pro 3.1?

Hi,

I have a Mac Pro 2008 early 2008 model (running Sierra) with the original 8800 GT card. I want to replace the videocard for a better one. I still have a ATI Firepro 4900 card laying around, does anybody know if this card can be flashed to work with mac?

That's an old "Turks" chipset, which some old MacBooks and/or iMacs had, so it might actually run OOB. Otherwise you'll need to modify the system drivers.

Flashing it for bootscreens might be possible, but I doubt anyone has ever bothered to investigate that.

Besides that I wouldn't expect it to perform much better than your 8800.
