Ati Hd 4870

I just installed my HD 4870 in my Early '08 Mac Pro, but the display won't come up. I was hoping to use my 23" CD with my 24" CD.

Anyone else?

Checked the connections (only one not used is the power that connects to the MacBooks), but there were no drivers with it. Maybe they're on Apple's site?

The drivers are built into 10.5.7... looks like you'll be waiting for 10.5.7. Maybe today?

Well, got it working. It appears you cannot use BOTH connectors; it's either Mini DisplayPort OR DVI. :-(

Edit: one can hope 10.5.7 has support for both connectors.

I don't know if I can decide which one to keep.

Went through this last night. Called apple and well, they were no help. You need 10.5.7, but it isn't out yet... the other option is d/ling them here... http://www.sendspace.com/file/gvsi12

installing, then deleting the natit.kext (in /System/Library/Extensions)

Please verify you have both power cables hooked up and the card is seated proberly and fan is spinning when you power it up. Mine worked out of the box w/ 10.5.6 and no drivers, just Quartz Extreme was not supported until I installed the drivers.

Bit the bullet and installed the drivers. BOTH displays work perfectly at the same time! :-D

i so want an LED monitor. Samsung just came out with one that should hit the streets soon. only $400 retail. will probably sell for less.
