A friend of mine told me there is "a way" to "flash" a PC Video Card and fool it into Mac format... Is this true?

Maybe I don't have the terminology correct but the essence being the ability to run an old 7000 ATI card, pulled from a PC and have it hum away in a PCI Mac. (anything up to G4 Yikes)

Any ideas? Many thanks for your input. MP

Yeah, it is possible to flash some PC cards. Do a search in google for flashing PC cards to mac. There are many sources of information on doing this. Many people have done this successfully, but there is still risk involved.

Thanks Mopar;

Checked it all out and I find the 7000 I have has the "wrong" type of RAM to work.
It appears the card must have DDR RAM and mine is SDR... oh well... BUT...
Does this mean I could grab any PCI card (ATI) with DDR RAM and zap it?

This is now my new quest... :)

If anyone knows off the top, let me know... if not, I will return with my results.

Thanks again... MP
