ATI RAGE II+DVD

I was adding a dvd reader to my beige G3 the other day and ironically I noticed that the built in vid card had ATI RageII+DVD painted on it. Does this mean I can somehow get a driver to watch DVD's for OS 9 or os X?

P.S THe DVD reder was just to read burned DVD's with music and photos on them.
 
That means that the card can do hardware decoding of DVD's. This was a major selling point years ago when processors just couldn't handle decoding DVD's through software.
