After installing windows 7 64 using bootcamp,
is it best just to get latest drivers for hd4850 from ati's site?

Bit confused on if I should install radeon drivers or mobility radeon drivers for the iMac i7 27". It's not a laptop but thought I read to install the mobility drivers. Any advice?

Installing Catalyst drivers will result in 16-bit colors with heavy "banding".

Tried 10.3 and 10.4 (mobility) with same result :(
After some research (google) it seems many others are having the same issue. Perhaps the (iMac) HD4850 is custom made for Apple and require special drivers?

My config: Late 2009 iMac 27", i7, 4gig ram.

yeah im not sure, ive read about same problems and have read many threads, but none have offered a solution...any help would be great.

I have an ASUS G73 with ATI mobility 5870 and many people using 10.3 and 10.4 are having problems. The drivers that ship with the laptop work. ATI definitely needs to work on their driver QC.

I don't know whether to try bootcamp on my iMac at all.

Cheers,
