Any ideas on what this will be compatible with or when it may be available? Isn't PCI Express only available in G5 towers? I'd love to hear more about this.

Nope - PCI Express hasn't appeared in Macs just yet. The PowerMac G5s have PCI-X, an enhancement to PCI; PCI Express is vastly different from PCI and PCI-X and represents a major step forward. I hope Apple puts it in the next PowerMac and PowerBook!
