I just upgraded to the ip4

Is it common practice for ATT to cancel your text plan then prorate it for the rest of the month?

I ask as I have had the 1500 text on my 3g, got the iphone 4 and kept all the same plans. However it seems my text plan was cancelled when I got the 4 and then they prorated the text plan for rest of month

This has resulted in an increase in my bill due to this proration

FWIW, I was well under my 1500 when I got the ip4 on the 24th

They did it because legally it is a different contract, so they legally had to end the old contract, and start a new one. They would usually then also charge you for the next month as well.

TEG
