Came across some article about how slow DL/UL speed on Sprints iPhone4s, so gave my iPhone4 a test. 6Mbs DL and 1.36Mbs UL. Never got these speed before. Most of time is around 3-4Mbs DL and about the same UL. Did ATT silently bump up the speed ?? or is this from the IOS5??

Probably AT&T improved the backhaul capacity to the particular tower you are using. The tower may (likely does) also support HSPA+ with speeds up to 14.4Mbps, so they need a larger backhaul capacity to take advantage of that.

Your iPhone 4 HSPA phone tops out at 7.2Mbps theoretical, so at 6+ you're pretty darn close to saturating the protocol once you account for some overhead.
