ATT customer VPN question

I am a att customer with a regular plan. If I try to setup my VPN to get my work e-mail will it cause and increase in my plan price. I am not that tech savy. My IT person said he would setup my phone but what does that mean for my. plan. Is there another way to get my e-mail from work without upping my plan.

Using the built in VPN client won't cause your plan to change.

AFAIK, the $45 data rate is only for accessing exchange servers.
