To verify you are eligible for the early upgrade at the non-inflated price simply dial *639# and it will send you updated info when you are eligible for the regular upgrade pride.
For instance; for the 32G 3gs is was $499 now its $299

How come the carrier in your screenshot shows Verizon and not AT&T ?
(something doesn't make sense here) The times don't match up, either. And if it's 4:16am where you live right now, then you are in the Central United States. Verizon? And a subsidized phone from AT&T?

someone should try changing their plan to above 100 and seeing if that makes them eligible. Best case senario after they hand you the iphone say you want to also change back to your lower plan. Worst case your charged 1 month a bit more and downgrade next month, still save a bunch

yes its jailbroken :D

Thats a verizon symbol for the carrier and irealsms

I'm going into AT&T tomorrow (Thursday), so I may try that. :p All I have to do is go from 1500 texts to unlimited.

I'm on a family plan that costs $150+ per month and I am not eligible. WHY???!?!!?! I got my iPhone last year in August.

$100 = minutes + data only..so you need a 69.99 minute plan and the data plan

texting and other features dont count and neither do taxes

I'm trying to debate if I should just go to Apple/ATT in the morning to try to get the 3gs or order it now from ATT with the better pricing online and wait 7-14 days like it says? I have to sell my 3g iphone on ebay so I want the 3gs as soon as possible...

AT&T reps are clueless. Called them asking about my upgrade since I'm eligible in July and it doesn't show the new date in the system. The rep stated she had no idea about the press release yesterday. Spoke to a manager and they had no idea about it either. I told the manager where to go on the AT&T website and she was reading the release while we were on the phone. She said she didn't know why my new upgrade date wasn't showing because by looking at the release, I should be. I'm going to call back later today. Un-freaking-believable

It works on the Apple store too, I just ordered an iPhone there under full upgrade, while previously it was 7/12.

for 35% off with bing.com I dont see many reasons to go to the store. Im iphone 2g prepay going to contract and will but in store because I can rollover my $250 balance thereby getting 3gs for free.

each line has to average over $99 a month. If you have 2 lines, add up your total bill and divide by 2. The script ran at 3am PT which calculates the exact same thing and determines who is eligible and who is not.

maybe your iPhone is not the PRIMARY number. That's what mine was and they made it the primary number, but could do little beyond that

Where are you getting this information? Nowhere in AT&T's annoucement does it say you have to spend over $99 a month. They only used that as an example where someone may be eligible for the early upgrade

My bill has been over 100 a month since I got the phone last July. I'm not surr how AT&T did this, but it is definitely bull. I may call and ask why I'm not eligable for the upgrade, and maybe even put up a big stink about it. However, at this time I really have no intention of getting one. It's the principle that bothers me.
