I received my iPhone 11 Pro Max MG 256GB through AT&T contract on launch day. A2161 model number.

I installed a Verizon SIM card, T-mobile SIM card, and my ATT SIM card. All work great!

I thought previous AT&T iPhones were GSM only?

also, I removed my Pre-installed AT&T nano sim before powering on for the first time. I installed my other AT&T nano sim to transfer my number from my iPhone 7 which is “Unlocked” “paid off” and on my monthly att data plan.

So my iPhone 11 Pro Max is Unlocked??

So I’ve got a cdma/gsm iPhone 11 Pro Max which is cool!

This cycle is the same as last one. One model that works on CDMA and GSM.

The easy way to find if it is truly unlocked is to restore through iTunes. If you see a message congratulating you on your unlocked status, then you’re golden.

Odds are that if other SIM’s are working then you are unlocked. However, if you purchased it on AT&T Next, it is supposed to be locked to AT&T until it is paid off and an unlock request has been submitted and approved.

Well at least it supports all carriers if anything ever changed in the future. I’m fine using AT&T. And I’m totally fine if it actually is locked for now.

I happened to have a few pre-paid nano sims that were still in service for a few more days laying around. And they all worked to my surprise.
