One the best things about having an iPhone was that you didn't have to hear the inane 15 second recording after your personal greeting repeating what you said ("leave a message after the beep..."), but now it's back!

When I called ATT, they woman I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about, but said she'd research it and get back to me. Of course she didn't.

David Pogue had a whole campaign about it "Take back the beep!", and he said Apple insisted that iPhone users be spared this ridiculousness:

What happened, and how do I find someone at ATT who even knows what I'm talking about?!
