Ok, my initial problem deciding was made easy when VZW was gonna charge $35 activation each time etc...but now that seems not the case?

So for me the coverage maps look fairly similar for my greater/local(?) area...however...Im thinking Ill be needing 3G more when Im traveling or vacationing (which aint a helluva a lot)...so maybe not a big deal, but hey, we want to have the "best" right?

So all other things being equal...does it basically boil down to this?:

1. If we are we now to assume both carriers will be handling service terms the same. i.e Turn it on and off at will, no contracts etc...so now the only difference here is just price per usage then otherwise no winner here correct?

2. If Im in ATT's sweet spots then I may have a little faster experience over VZW?

3. Does VZW have an EDGE type signal to use as a plan B like ATT? Does EDGE allow ATT to at least cover more area even though its a slower signal?
Is VZW still the winner for total coverage regardless of speed?

4. If traveling internationally then ATT wins here I understand?

Does that about sum it up? Im still undecided.
