My recent first world problem. I just got a new 2016 Audi Q5. It comes with a 6 month subscription to ATT for a wireless hotspot in the car. I'm thinking cool, I can use wifi in the car so I don't consume my data plan for my iPhone.

I also live in Vermont and with the addition of wifi calling, its been wonderful.

The problem I have found is that in my car(or any car with wifi hotspot) that ATT Wifi is being used because I am on wifi. The issue of course is that sometimes the marginal cell coverage here in Vermont is good enough to make a phone call, but not good enough for a wifi based phone call.

My solution thus far has been to not use the wifi in my car, which is a bummer because it actually picks up a better data connection than my phone.....

I hate the idea of turning off wifi calling.

How often do you use wifi calling at home?Do you need it? Seems to me turning it off is a no-brainer. I'd rather the 6 months of free data.
