If we have any ATT experts here, I'd appreciate any input or advice on how to proceed.
I'm trying to do the math on how to proceed with an upgrading a featurephone to a 6S on one of our two lines, but I have a few holes that I can't solve.
My current plan is as follows:
Phone 1 (featurephone)
Phone 2 (iPhone)
450 shared minutes, 200 messages on Phone 1, unlimited data on Phone 2
We pay ~$85 all in, I believe it is $30 for the first line, $10 for the second line, $5 for texts, $30 for data.
The upcoming plan is:
Phone 1 (iPhone)
Phone 2 (iPhone)
450 shared minutes, 200 messages on Phone 1, 300MB on Phone 1, unlimited data on Phone 2
My understanding is that my costs will be the same as before, plus $20 for the new data plan (getting me to roughly $105-110 all in).
Alternatively, I was thinking I could buy Phone 1 outright, but I think that would break the family plan that we have, leaving me with the following costs:
$20 for data on Phone 1, $15 for talk/text on Phone 1, $30 for voice on Phone 2, $30 for data on Phone 2, at the same total.
The upside would be the loss of text and voice limits on Phone 1 and the 450 minutes would go to Phone 2. The downside is that I couldn't transfer the 200 text plan and would have paid full price for Phone 1 instead of the subsidized - it would take a lot of calls and texts to make up the difference.
Is that correct? I'm sure I'm missing something, I'm just not sure what. Any help would be...helpful.
